Grover Cleveland was sworn-in as the 24th President of the United States.
Adlai E. Stevenson was sworn-in as the 23rd Vice President of the United States the day prior on March 3, 1893.

Weather:
Snow began during the early morning and ended around 1 p.m. One to two inches fell across the area. A biting wind blew from the northwest. The crowd was small for the Ceremony and many planned events were canceled. Estimated noon temperature of 25°F.

Grover Cleveland is the first president to have served two non-consecutive terms, first in 1885 and again later in 1893. He is therefore referred to as the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.
